A POC A POC

A Poc A Poc was born in 1994. Conceived in Barcelona, nourished by international experiences, and gestated during an era in which the modem begin to approach the world more and more, it did not take long for the company to approach to phenomenon of globalization taking an active role, becoming a Mexican company invited to several festivals with wide recognition in Mexico and the world.

The Company has developed its expression not only with the generation of a body language with a high degree of physicality and technical dexterity, but also with the use of interdisciplinary dialogues such as the word, the clown, the stand up comedy, multimedia resources, puppets, handling of objects, among others, always in search of premises that promote empathy and intelligibility in our captive audience, the approach of new presences and forms of distribution for our stage work.

His works have been presented in Germany, the United States, France, Cuba, El Salvador, Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Colombia, Algeria, Tunisia and Spain.

About Us

Jaime Camarena

Director, Choreographer, Manager and Teacher.

He graduated as a professional dancer from the INBA to join the artistic body of the National Dance Company. He has been distinguished with multiple recognitions, such as: the 1st and 2nd place in the XX and XXII editions of the Intercontinental Prize of choreography INBA UAM, II Iberoamerican Prize of Choreography of Havana, and recently he received the award Luis Fandiño for his dance trayectory. His choreographic work has been presented in the main forums of Mexico and in more than 20 international forums in three continents.

  • SHECCID MARTÍNEZ

    Dancer

    Graduated from the Bachelor of Contemporary Dance in the ENDCC of the INBA. From 2014 to 2017 he collaborated in Barro Rojo Arte Escénico as dancer. He has received recognitions for his participation in different dance events. From 2017 to date, he is a permanent cast member of A Poc A Poc, emerging as one of the strongest emerging talents on the national scene.

  • ANDREA HOLGUÍN

    Dancer

    She began his dance studies at Núcleo Antares in 2007; in 2009 she began her training at the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlán, where she graduated, to co-direct the company Danza Viral. In 2011 she received the scholarship "Program for artistic development" to make a residency in Colombia with the company Cortosinesis. In 2012 she received a scholarship to be part of the Bates Dance Festival video team in Portland, E.U.A. Since 2017 she belongs to A Poc A Poc dance company.

  • HELENI CASTRO VELAZCO

    Dancer

    Graduated from the Bachelor of Dance at the Autonomous University of Baja California in 2013, with a specialty in Contemporary Dance with honorable mention. She has participated as a guest dancer in different companies of the emerging scene of the country such as: Sin Luna Punk Dance, Construction Construction in Movement, just to mention a few. As an emergent creator she made works such as "E.V.A." Etil Vinil Acetato and in collaboration with Sybila Poveda (Spain), the work "Woman". Since 2017 she belongs to A Poc A Poc dance company.

  • JOSÉ ORTÍZ

    Dancer

    Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer. Graduated from the ENDCC of INBA. Awarded in the international dance competition Attitude in 2010. He got a scholarship in the summer program of the Ballet Hispánico de New York in 2009. He has participated in important festivals in Mexico and abroad such as: International Cervantino Festival , International Daza Lila López Festival, International Festival of Performing Arts Panama, International Theater Festival of Maizales Colombia. Since 2017 she belongs to A Poc A Poc dance company.

  • STEPHANIE GARCÍA

    Guest dancer

    Graduated in Contemporary Dance by the INBA and graduated from the Bachelor in Cultural Management of the UDG. He began his career in 2009 Her work as a dancer has led her to dance in various international forums, as well as the main theaters and festivals in the country. Co-founder of South West Scenic Art A.C. It has been supported by the FONCA and other cultural institutions. The national press has considered her one of the best interpreters in Mexico. Since 2013, she has joined the cast of A Poc A Poc as a guest dancer.

  • Carlo Huerta

    Guest dancer

    Born in Guadalajara and graduated from the bachelor in 2011 from CEDART with a specialty in dance, since then he continued his non-formal education with teachers in different parts of the Mexican Republic. Currently, beneficiary of the scenic Creator Program category "A" issue 2017 granted by the FONCA. Principal dancer invited from the company A Poc A Poc.
